My experience with p2pu

p2pu Learning for everyone, by everyone, about almost anything.
"The Peer 2 Peer University (P2PU) is an online community of open study groups for short university-level courses. Think of it as online book clubs for open educational resources."

I heard about p2pu @Mozilla Bangalore DevDay 2010 from the Mozilla Drumbbeat team there were Lucian Teo and Jhon Britton spoke about p2pu and i was really interested in the new concept meet them in the networking break [ /me rather the long lunch queue ;)].
Got great shoots from Lucian's cam, came home and checked the site mentioned by them it's called and was browsing through many courses there and the one which struck my frequency was Mashing Up The Open Web Manager was John Britton.
The project details:

Good to Know (AKA What you might learn)
* jQuery or similar JS Framework
* Server side scripting (PHP, Ruby, Python, etc)
* Open Datasets that would be useful for your project
* Data Visualization projects (SIMILE, Open Street Maps, etc)

Sign Up Requirement:
To apply to the course you must submit an idea for your mashup, this doesn't have to be what is actually implemented but should demonstrate your dedication to the project and have some relevance to what you will actually build.

The course happened in a virtual classroom, where everyone could see each others expressions and the discourse was happening and for n3rd's and g33ks we also had irc channel also available.

Six weeks past in a wink, we had class every Sunday for me it was 9.30 pm, it was fun to share experiences and to listen to others also. We had a methodical approach, organized and executed by Jhon.
Engaging everyone with there project ideas and giving assignments and
taking feedback, through mailing list, chat and more.

As a whole it was a great experience to be a part of the p2pu and indeed helped me to build a great network. Looking to see more for p2pu.
