# Gmail Voice and Video Chat Comes to GNU/Linux at Last

> Today gmail has announced and rolled out this feature yes there were many alternatives like Pidgin, Empathy with this in JS.

Today gmail has announced and rolled out this [feature](http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2010/08/use-linux-now-you-can-video-chat-too.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+OfficialGmailBlog+%28Gmail+Blog%29) yes there were many alternatives like Pidgin, Empathy with this feature long back, but it's still nice to see this in the browser, enable this feature from [here](http://www.google.com/chat/video?hl=en)

_Hope to see Gtalk for GNU/Linux users one fine day like today!_

The [ Controls](http://www.h3manth.com/sites/files/bar.png) looks so.

**Me trying the plugin for FF [ browser restart required ]:**

**Updates :** @gmail Thanks for the V&V plugin, if two friends F1 and F2 are both invisible, how do they make VC? BTW is there a V&V test bot ? #gmail
